Seascape photography holidays in the North East

We make it simple to understand seascape photography, we give you the skills and confidence to improve your seascape photography.

Just like its sometimes dramatic always photographic inland scenery (which includes wild heather moors, lush limestone scenery and windswept fells), the North East coast line  is frequently spectacular, varied, and ideal for the Seascape photographer visiting the north east.
From south of the mouth of the Tees and where the Cleveland and the  North York moors meet the sea, the coastline is rocky and wild, with numerous fishing villages and resorts including Staithes, Whitby and robin hoods bay. Further south are the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey, positioned ideally at the head of a broad bay which sweeps from the rocky prominentry of Filey Brig to the spectacular seabird colony of Bempton cliffs on Flamborough head
At the southern end of the Yorkshire Coast is Spurn Head, a constantly evolving peninsular of sand dunes and sand banks at the mouth of the Humber Estuary and the famous seaports of Kingston Upon Hull and Goole.

This fantastic, sometimes dramatic, romantic and always beautiful scenery is ideal for the Seascape photography that the north east is famous for and ideal for the photographer like you.
Being the North East coast, there is always that mix of industrial and seascape imagery to get you the shots that just aren’t possible anywhere else.
Whether its the dramatic cliffs, the miles of golden sand or the characteristic northern industrial images that you are after to make your seascape photography complete; travel with Keith and share his passion for seascape photography. Keith lives in the area and has an intimate knowledge of these regions throughout the year. He will take you to several stunning scenic locations where you will receive his individual attention and learn how to take the special seascape photograph you are after.
Why not get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, grab your camera  and head to the coast.

As you are on holiday, relax and leave the accommodation to us. For our 3 and 5 day photography seascape holidays you will be staying at the stylish, quality and friendly Gisborough hall.
With its welcoming 4-star rating, Gisborough Hall is set in peaceful private grounds on the edge of the North York Moors. Winner of the prestigious Yorkshire Life Hotel of the Year 2007/8, Gisborough Hall is well known for offering some of the best facilities in the north of England.
An ideal base for you to stay in and an ideal base to listen and learn whilst Keiths gives you the benefit of stories from his international  fine art landscape photography career.

1 day basic digital photography landscape holiday

Our 1 day basic photography landscape holiday appeals to beginners and photographers who are keen to start developing an eye and skill for the landscape. We have a maximum group size of just 6; this means you receive a high level of one-to-one tuition out on location and back at our digital suit.

This course can also be taken as part of our 5day family holiday based at Gisborough Hall

Course start time is 9.30am and finishes at 5.30pm

We advise that you get to our studio for 9am this gives you chance for a coffee and a chat before we start at 9.30 where there will be a short tutorial covering what “depth of field” is and how to use it in your landscapes, white balance controls; how the quality changes between Jpeg and RAW settings; how faster shutter speeds can come from changing the ISO levels; and how we use the histogram to achieve the correct exposure.

We then head out on location to put it all into practice, whilst on location you will learn how neutral density graduated filters enable you to record areas of excessive tonal contrast, often between the sky and the land and how they have a significant impact on exposure and the final look and feel of the image. We then begin to explore the creative side of landscape photography, looking at how we find the picture in the first place and then examining how we use the elements within the landscape to build simple but strong compositions

Our one day basic photography landscape holiday costs £155 per person. The price also includes lunch.

We help you take control of your camera and the landscape giving you the skill to capture a landscape you are proud of….
